So this is our How-To Spot Scams and Avoid Bad Actors.

We’ve been burnt - and we’ve learnt!

Feel free to do these checks with Chuckle - and, more importantly, we highly recommend you do all these checks below with any other coin out there. This is imperative.

1. Verify Identity on Official Channels:
• Always double-check the identity of moderators and admins in official channels.
• Scammers often create fake profiles with similar names and avatars to deceive users.

2. Avoid Direct Messages from Unknown Sources:
• Be highly skeptical of unsolicited direct messages (DMs), especially those offering free tokens or airdrops.
Official teams will never DM you first. Ever.

3. Prevent Yourself From Being Added to Telegram Groups Without Your Permission.
• Scammers often clone legitimate Telegram groups and add unsuspecting users to these fake groups. They then trick users by offering fake rewards, such as airdrops.

Open Telegram: Launch the Telegram app on your device.
Go to Settings:
• Tap on the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner to open the menu.
• Select Settings.

Privacy and Security:
• In the Settings menu, tap on Privacy and Security.
• In the Privacy area, click on Invites
• Where it says “Who can add me to group chats?”, choose My Contacts or Nobody.

4. Telegram Verification Scam:
• When joining legitimate groups, you usually need to verify that you are human by clicking a verification button. If you ever encounter Safeguard asking you to sign in with your phone number during this process, don’t do it. You will be scammed. There is no need to ever enter your phone number for any verifications.

5. Beware of Impersonators:
• Scammers often impersonate team members or project representatives.
• Always verify any communication by checking official announcements or contacting the team through verified channels.

6. Beware of Phishing Sites, Check URLs Carefully:
• Scammers often create fake websites or cloned websites with URLs that look extremely similar to the official site.
• Always type the URL directly into your browser or use a trusted bookmark.

7. Do Not EVER Share Private Keys or Seed Phrases:
• Never ever share your private keys or seed phrases with anyone.
• No legitimate project will ever ask for these details.

8. Be Skeptical of Free Airdrops and Giveaways:
• Scammers often promise free tokens in exchange for wallet access.
• Verify any airdrop or giveaway from multiple official sources before participating.
• If you are going to participate in Airdrops: make sure to never connect your main wallet. Create a new wallet solely for airdrops, which would keep the crypto in your main wallet completely safe.

9. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA):
• Use 2FA on your accounts to add an extra layer of security.
• This helps protect against unauthorized access.

10. Educate Yourself and Stay Informed:
• Regularly follow official project channels and trusted news sources.
• Being informed about the latest scam tactics can help you stay safe.

Additional Tips:
• Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter a potential scam or suspicious activity, report it to the project team immediately.
• Use Official Links Only: Always use links provided by official channels for any transactions or important information.
• Double-Check Offers: If an offer sounds too good to be true, it is. Always double-check with official sources.
